Christenings at St Bertoline's Church

Baptisms

Baptism is the Sacrament of the Church, which is a sign of God’s grace and mercy to us, as his children. It was instituted by Our Lord himself, with his Baptism in the River Jordan.

For all involved, particularly the candidates, but also the parents and godparents, it is a joyful moment when we rejoice at what God has done for us in Christ: making promises, declaring the faith with support and prayers for the future.

Most people are Baptised when they are babies or infants, but there is no upper age limit. Also, to be a Godparent, you must be Baptised.

Baptism at St. Bertoline’s is usually administered on a Sunday at 2pm, but we can be flexible in relation to this, and in fact, it can take place on any day of the week. If you are a member of the Church, or you are connected to St. Bertoline’s congregation, you can request that the Baptism takes place during the usual Sunday 10.30am Service.

Please contact The Rector of Barthomley, Peter Ennion, for more information: ennionpeter@gmail.com, or 07518 434000.
